Lion Country Safari is located in West Palm Beach, Florida. We are conveniently located approximately 20 miles west of downtown West Palm Beach, approximately 59 miles north of downtown Ft. Lauderdale and approximately 78 miles north of Miami. Lion Country Safari is just 15.5 miles west of I-95 on Southern Boulevard (SR 80/98/441). Lion Country Safari is easily accessible from the Florida Turnpike or Interstate 95.
Long before there were drive-through fast food restaurants and dry cleaners, Lion Country Safari invented the drive-through. From the comfort of your own air-conditioned car, you can experience a four-mile drive-through safari, where you may see a thousand free-roaming animals of a hundred different species.

Take your time and enjoy the antics of lions, white rhinos, zebras, ostriches, chimps, African elephants, giraffe and so many more fascinating creatures.
Since 1967 Lion Country Safari has offered its visitors an up-close and personal experience with some of the most fascinating creatures on our planet. Located eighteen miles west of Interstate 95 on Southern Boulevard in West Palm Beach, Lion Country Safari continues to offer the public an opportunity to see its resident animals in their natural environment while also actively participating in the rehabilitation and captive breeding of many of its species. To take full advantage of all Lion Country Safari has to offer, plan on spending at least two hours exploring the drive-thru areas by vehicle and another two to three hours on foot enjoying the petting zoo and other included attractions.

Exploring the Preserve at Lion Country Safari
The preserve is divided into seven sections which are named after famous wildlife areas all over the world. Lake Nakura, The Great Plains, and The Serengeti Plains are just of few of the exciting destinations you can expect during your visit, each one offering a carefully planned combination of creatures. Many of the animals like the antelope and ostrich roam freely among other species, but don't expect to see the African Lions mingling with others. They are kept in a separate area to prevent them from preying on their more gentle neighbors. Keep your windows rolled up here! Among the animals not to be missed are the White Rhinoceros, the African Elephant, and the several generations of playful chimpanzees which populate five private islands. Births occur frequently so it is not uncommon to see young animals frolicking with their mothers.

Safari World at Lion Country Safari
Following the drive through the reserve visitors can take advantage of Safari World, the walk-through portion of Lion Country Safari. Special exhibits occur daily including "Iguana Talk" at 1:30pm and the alligator feeding at 3:00pm. Both are hosted by a knowledgable staff member who shares interesting facts with the audience. Another attraction which is highly favored by younger visitors is the petting zoo. Nubian goats, Vietnamese pot-bellied pigs, and llamas are just a few of the full-time residents who will devour food right from your hand. Lion Country Safari is also home to four free-flight aviaries. At the Lory Encounter, friendly parrots will fly over to you and allow you to feed them. In the Nature walk expect to see flamingos, roseate spoonbills, and yellow-billed storks. Parrot Island offers a look at some of the larger birds including parrots, cockatoos, and colorful macaws.

Activities at Lion Country Safari
Lion Country Safari also offers a carousel ride, miniature golf, and paddle boat rides on Lake Shanalee which are all included in the price of admission. Many visitors enjoy lunch at the on-site restaurant which offers a standard fare of burgers, hot dogs, pizza and other fast food. Convertible vehicles are not permitted but rentals are available for a nominal fee. For more information on Lion Country Safari call (561) 793-1084
