Water Skiing A nationally recognized world-class competitive water ski course is available at Okeeheelee Park in West Palm Beach. Five courses in this facility can accommodate traditional, barefoot and kneeboard skiing, and one course is lighted for night skiing. To obtain an Okeeheelee Park Ski Permit for the competitive ski course, please call (561) 966-6620, Monday through Friday, between 8:00 am and 4:30 pm. The permit year is May 1 to April 30. Only AWSA-approved ski boats are permitted. Canoeing at Riverbend Park The Loxahatchee River supports many species of native animals. Among these are the bald eagle, raccoon, otter, deer, and the American Alligator. Traveling the river by canoe affords the best view of these animals, as well as a variety of plant species-even cypress trees hundreds of years old! The complete six-hour trip, including return bus transportation, is available for $20 per person. There is no charge for children 12 and under accompanied by a parent. An hourly rate of $20/first three hours and $4/each additional hour is available if you prefer to paddle for an indefinite period of time and return the canoe to the starting point. These naturally produced and stocked fish grow quickly from eating the supplemental fish food that is fed to them by automatic feeders located on each lake.
